Seems i have a bug in the firmware though. If the host detects an error while transmitting a mouse packet it will pull the clock line low to signal a resend request. It seems the firmware has a bug there and does not resend the packet from the beginning. So the host gets confused what value is what and the mouse coordinates are interpreted as mouse keys and vice versa… As there is no official way to reset a PS/2 device it needs a reboot then -.-
Yay it works when built too 🙂 currently connected to a logitech mx master mouse (half of the buttons do not work but hey it’s dos after all)
So this is the minimum version with PS/2 and Serial Mouse support. Could not fit more than that onto the small form factor, but I have a fully featured Version in the making. #PS2 #RetroComputing #DIY #Electronics
It finally works 🙂 USB HID device to IBM PS/2 and Serial adapter. Now i can use my modern USB devices with my oldschool retro DOS computer. There are some Pins and D/A ports leftover, perhaps I’ll add a Playstation 4 to Gameport mode too. So one USB keyboard, two mice (one via PS/2, one Serial) and a PS4 controller all in one Raspberry Pi Pico 🙂. Wanna play settlers 2 splitscreen with two mice? #retrocomputing #diy #electronics #raspipico #rp2040
To make it more clear: I do not expect participation numbers to get to pre-pandemic levels while the pandemic is ongoing. We are all cautious and that is a good thing! What I wanted to poll here is if your club is still loosing active members that were active while the thing was causing chaos everywhere or if it stabilized somehow. Does the club recover somehow or are people just tired and leaving?
To all people who volunteer in some sort of club (#makerspace, #fireBrigade, marksmen club, ambulances, #lifeGuards etc.) can you see a change in #participation in general that started with coronavirus and did not recover from that? Our makerspace had about 30 people active of 90 before corona and now it shrank to about 10-15 active people and does not seem to recover. We get more new members than old ones returning. Can you see that for your clubs too? #volunteering

Sputnik disco kitty!
I mean: look at this… isn’t it fun? And yes, my retro PC has an SSD… smallest i could buy was 240GB. Had to hack the BIOS to get it to recognize at least 128GB of that, by default it could do 32GB.
So, do i build on my minecraft castle or do i finish my usb-mouse/keyboard to PS/2 retro adapter and play a round of quake on a PC from 1996 for the sake of nostalgia? And: is there an oss project that converts VGA to DVI/HDMI that i can build myself?
@foosel thanks for the recommendation 🙂 This is sooo much better
Orr now I know why all media was "unavailable" on my instance. Firewall broke IPv4, IPv6 worked fine so I did not see it.
Can we please all support #IPv6 in 2022?
@leah chaos.social hängt grad in keinem relay drin oder? frage für die privatinstanz und die eher magere hashtagsuche hier ;)
Why are the bugs that take multiple hours to track down always those that need modification of a single line of code to be fixed? How do you explain that to anyone?
Yay for debugging.
Hi, I am known as dunkelstern almost everywhere, in real life just call me “jo”.
I am a backend-developer using #python and #javascript by day, but i am living on github by night too and working on one of those unfinished projects there (#rust, #c, python and #cad)
If I am not tinkering with my #smarthome you will find me in the guts of some #3dprinter or fiddling with some #electronics
On the weekend you’re likely to find me in our #makerspace habitat augsburg
Hui da is ja grad einiges überlastet wie's aussieht...
